This is part of a unit on writing narrative endings to prepare students for MCAS 2.0/PARCC where they will be asked to either write an additional scene in a story or complete the story.

Directions: Please read the learning targets for today.
What do you think you will learn today?

Remember our Language from yesterday? Pick 2 phrases that you are going to try to use when you write your story today? Write them here.

Directions: Read the story. After you finish, you will write an ending. As you read, be thinking about what could happen next and what the characters could learn.

Directions: Use the story map to help you plan your writing. Read the first 3 boxes that are filled out for you.
*DO NOT WRITE IN THIS BOX.

Describe the falling action.
1) What things happen to start to fix the problem? (What does Sarah do and say?)
2) How does the problem get fixed?

Describe the conclusion. How does the story end? What did the characters learn?

9.

Use your story map to try writing an ending to the story. Use complete sentences. Remember to try some of the language you picked in question 2.
