Grace could hear the click-clacking of the keyboard. She looked at her watch and sighed. It was already 7:45, and she needed to be at school by 8:00.

"I just need to finish the last email," mom told Grace.

Out the window, grace saw Jen, her neighbor and best friend, pull out of the garage with her mom. She wondered if she would have been better off taking a ride with her today.

"Ack! All right let's go. My battery just died, so I'll finish the email when I get to work!" mom finally said.
