She knitted Stormalong a hammock that stretched from New Beford, MA to Newport, RI.
He had outgrown all the other boats. His boat would be the biggest ship that ever sailed the ocean.
He named the boat Colossus because that means"gigantic, enormous."
It ran into the tip of South America and broke it into pieces
Throughout his life he was alwasy helpful and considerate of the welfare of "normal"people.
Answers vary. Should include the storm, rescuing boats and seamen, the storm lets up and Stormalong's trip to the sky.

Stormalong was a big baby: he outgrew his cradle in a week; he had to sleep in the barn because the house was too small; at two he was taller thatn the church steeple; his hammock stretched from one state to another.
Stormalong earned money to build his ship: when he carried fish from ships to shore
Stormalong didn't need a crew; he cold do everything a hundred seamen could do and faster.
Stormalong rescued ships and sailors from a Caribbean hurricane; he swam through towering waves; he piled up boats on the deck of the Colossus; he swam to land with the anchor in his teeth.
