New life

By: Mr. Mendoza

After months and months passing waiting to see

the new life that was promised to me.

The long harsh winter is now in the past,

and the wonders of spring is coming in fast.

Rain is falling and flowers are blooming,

I know now that a big event is looming.

I sit one evening watching the clouds straggle by,

when all in a sudden something catches my eye.

My wife comes and tells me that the time has come

to meet the child we have come to know and love.

That morning was beautiful, the day that she came,

the flowers had bloomed due to the past rain.

It was a wonderful feeling that came to pass,

and I wanted so badly that feeling to last.

Three wonderful seasons of Spring flew by

when again my wife caught my eye.

She told me it’s time, to welcome new life!

The wind and the leaves

- George Cooper.

"Come, little leaves," said the wind one day, " Come over the meadows with me and play. Put on your dresses of red and gold; For summer is gone, and the days grow cold."

Soon as the leaves heard the wind's loud call, Down they came fluttering, one and all. O'er the brown field then they danced and flew Singing the soft little songs they knew.

Dancing and whirling, the little leaves went, Winter had called them, and they were content. Soon, fast asleep on their earthy beds, The snow laid a coverlet over their heads.
