When South Carolina seceded from the Union they formed the Confederate army. The army lead by General P.T. Beauregar began building up a defense around the fort in Charlston harbor. Major Anderson, the leader of the Union forces started to get his army to move in. The Confederation were hoping that Major Anderson and his soldiers would leave South Carolina without a fight. On April 12, 1861 General Beauregard sent Major Anderson a message saying that he would fire in one hour if Anderson didn't surrender. What happened next?
