Exponent rules help us simplify things!

When you multiply two powers with the same base, you add the exponents.

When you raise a power to a power, you multiply the exponents.

When you divide a power by another power with the same base, you subtract the exponents.

When you have a negative exponent, that power becomes its reciprocal.
