Question 1
1.

What would be a good description for the weight of Variety A tomatoes, in general? What about for the weight of Variety B tomatoes, in general? Think about a typical tomato or the average tomato within Variety A and Variety B.

Question 2
2.

Which tomato variety should the farmer choose? Explain your reasoning.

In general, Variety A tomatoes are about 5.6 ounces and Variety B tomatoes are about 5.47 ounces.
She should choose Variety B. The two varieties have the same spread but a different variation. Variety B's spread is slightly less so this would be the better choice.
She should choose Variety B. The two varieties of tomatoes have about the same typical weight, in general, but there was much less variation in Variety B tomato. The weights were much more consistent than the weights for Variety A, so the tomatoes are more likely to be the same size and closer to 5.5 ounces in weight.
