Students share their own style and clothing and compare it by component items to styles from France. Next, they describe how the dress code impacts their style and how different girls dress to express themselves at Foxcroft. During week 2, students will learn about shopping in Paris and online shopping. They will also present a shopping skit to pratice the vocabulry. Finally students will study dress codes in other parts of the world and compare it to ours. The concluding presentation will be a new dress code written in French for Foxcroft students. This guide will include cultural notes that will help Francophone students understand our code.
WEEK ONE : La mode chez vous

After watching the video (the transcript is below) and referencing the vocabulary list on page 243, make a list of the clothing that Madame showed. Use articles and colors.

The following images come from an article in Le Parisien dated September 1, 2019. It addresses the importance of dressing well for the "rentrée" or what we would call, "going back to school". Answer the following questions to practice your reading and add any new words to the vocab list above.

Next, with a partner you are going to create a shopping dialogue. Use the following video to find helpful phrases when writing your script (I know you've missed Alexa). Make sure you share your google doc script with Madame so I can help you correct it. Then, when you've practiced, record yourselves having the conversation (one person playing the salesperson and one as the client). The dialogue should last 4 minutes and each person should speak equally. Make sure to practice so you don't have to read every word! Load your video onto MyFXC under assignments.
