Label the sides of each right triangle below as the:

“adjacent” meaning the leg adjacent to the angle marked with an “x” (adjacent leg)

“opposite” meaning the leg opposite to the angle marked with an "x" (opposite leg)

or “Hypotenuse” the side opposite of the right angle in the right triangle.

We will use the abbreviations opp, adj, and hyp to name the sides.
