How to embed Google Drive files!

With some Google Drive files, you can use the Embed content item; for others, the Video content item:

Premium/Partner users can also embed or add video within any question type!

1. Google Sheets

Instructions for embedding:

  1. Click "File" at the top left, and select "Publish to the web"
  2. Choose the "Embed" tab and adjust settings to your preference
  3. Click "Publish" and copy the embed code that appears
  4. Paste the code into the Embed field in your formative 🙂
Tip: You can edit the height="500px" width="700px" part of the code to adjust how the Sheet displays on your students' devices.

Note: Google Sheets are not editable by students.

2. Google Forms

Instructions for embedding:

  1. Click the "Send" button at the top right
  2. Choose the "Embed HTML" tab and copy the embed code that appears
  3. Paste the code into the Embed field in your formative 🙂
Note: Students can respond to and submit embedded Google Forms!

3. Audio files

Instructions for adding as a Video item:

  1. Sign in to Google, open Google Drive, and then open the audio file you'd like to embed
  2. Click the triple dots at the top right and select "Share"
  3. Choose your link sharing options (make sure your students have access) and click "Copy link"
  4. Paste the link into the Video field in your formative 🙂

4. Video files

Instructions for adding as a Video item:

  1. Sign in to Google, open Google Drive, and then open the video file you'd like to embed
  2. Click the triple dots at the top right and select "Share"
  3. Choose your link sharing options (make sure your students have access) and click "Copy link"
  4. Paste the link into the Video field in your formative 🙂
