This assessment has two parts. In Part I, you will watch a short biography of Jackie Robinson, take notes, and answer questions about the video. In Part II, you will reread pages 38–39 of Promises to Keep and answer short answer and selected response questions.

Part 1

Watch the video the first time for gist. You may take notes as you watch to help you remember important points. Then, watch the video a second time, looking for evidence of how Jackie fought for social change before, during, and after his baseball career.
