The sun is the closest start to Earth. The light from the sun is blocking or overwhelming the light from the other stars.

Gravity is a force that pulls objects down to the ground. Down is toward the ground, toward the center of the earth.

The Earth spins toward the sun, it is daytime and we see the sun. When the Earth spins away from the sun, it is nighttime and we see the stars.
