A scientist typically makes observations on a certain phenomena and then makes a hypothesis. Subsequestly, the scientist tests the hypothesis by performing a set of experiments. These experiments may lead to confirming or rejecting the hypothesis or may lead to further observations, starting this process over again. This is the process of the scientific method.
