Report any injuries, accidents, spills or breakage to your teacher immediately. Also, report any suspected hazard or any equipment malfunction

Wear Goggles when handling chemicals, glassware, or fire/heat and keep the work area clear of unnecessary materials.

Dress appropriately for lab with an apron, gloves and goggles. Pin or tie back hair. Avoid any dangling jewelry or clothing. Wear closed-toed shoes

Handle glassware and test tubes appropriately. Measure at eye level, do not tilt the glassware, remove it from the table and bring it to you, point test tubes away from people, use tongs if heated

Read through the lab instructions & procedures

Put on your apron, gloves, and other required safety gear

Take inventory of your lab equiptment

Determine partner roles with your lab partner

Ensure his nose is a minimum of 6 inches away from the test tube before inhaling
