Examples of extrusive igneous rock are.. <Select all that apply>
Metamillion
Obsidian
Gamete
Tuff
Pumice
Igneous rocks make about ____ of the earth’s crust
95%
85%
200%

Sediments are made of particles of.... that settle after weathering or breaking down by water <Select all that apply>
Sand
Organic material
Mud
___________ are found in sedimentary rocks, because they preserve plant and animal remains
Fossils
Muscles
Magam Stripes
Cereal
Organize the events of how sedimentary rocks are formed.
Step 2
Sand, mud and organic matter are broken down into smaller particlesand settle at the bottom of of body of water where they are depostied
Step 3
These deposits form layers
Step 1
Layers become squeezed (compacted) and compressed together to form solid rocks
Why do you think sedimentary rocks preserve fossils better than igneous or metamorphic rocks? Which student is probably correct?
Heidi C. - I beleive it is because in sedimentation, rocks are just piled on top of each other. This will leave less damage to the fossil. Also when metamorphic and igneous rocks are made, this involves heat and that can definitely damage the fossil.
Heidi Z. -I beleive it is because in sedimentation, bubbles are made carrying the proper atoms to cushion life. I also believe that in metamophism and igneous rock formation, no bubbles are made at all.
Heidy R. - Geeze, I'm not sure maybe because they are less grainy.
The word “metamorph” means to
Stay in constant formation
Change form
Flow of energy form
Some examples of sedimentary rocks are... <Select all the apply>
Shale
Limestone
Obsidian
Sandstone
Curis
Metamorphic rock is made
When magma or lava cools
When sediments form layers
When heat or pressure is applied
Metamorphic rocks
Can be made both near the core and at the earth’s surface. But there must be heat and pressure.
Can only be made deep near the core
Can only be made near the earth’s surface
The video makes a mistake at 3.23-3.30s.
What is the mistake that the video makes?
The video says "that rock cycle begins at the igneous stage" but in reality cycles don't really have a true starting or ending point. You can start any time in the cycle.
The video is fictiously mentioning the drawing of energy from the atmosphere
It mentions that unicorns exist but that is not a fact, that is a myth.
