Dear Parents,

Your children in English III/IV: Creative Nonfiction will soon be writing profiles based on photographs of you taken before they were born. Your child will need your help. More than one parent/guardian may complete this assignment.

Once you have completed all five steps, press "Submit" at the bottom. Please submit this Go Formative by Thursday, October 1.

Thank you!

Ms. Michaud

Dig through old photographs of yourself to find pictures taken when you were in your teens or early twenties, ideally before you had any children. For our purposes, the best photographs will be candid shots in which your face is clearly visible and that suggest a back story, in a particular setting, of you alone or with others. Select one or two of your sentimental favorites, ones that you feel reveal vividly what you were like at that age. (Please do not share professionally posed shots like school or yearbook photos. Those tend to erase your personality.)

In the box below where it says "Show Your Work," use the Add Image tool in the black tool panel along the left side of the screen to upload the picture(s) you have chosen. If you do not have a digital version of this photo, follow the steps below. (Get your child to help you!)

1. If you are using a smartphone, simply take a picture of the photo using your smartphone and upload it from there.
2. If using a laptop, take a picture of the photo using your smartphone. Use the airdrop feature on your smartphone to upload the photo onto your laptop.
3. Click the Add Image tool on the Go Formative, Click "My Computer," locate the photo on your device, open it, and click "Add Image." You can resize the picture once it has been added.
