When ADDING or SUBTRACTING decimals, what do you need to do with the DECIMAL point?
move the decimal to the left the number of place values in the original problem
line up the decimal points, then drop it straight down in your answer
count the # of #s behind the deicmal in the original problem, and move the decimal point that many places to the left in your answer, just like in multiplication.
move the decimal to the right to make it not a decimal
What do you do with the DECIMAL, when MUTLIPLYING deicmals?
Longer # on top. Ignore the decimal until the end. Count up the # of #s behind the decimal in the original problem. That's how many #s should be behind the decimal in the answer.
Line up the decimal points when setting up, and drop the decimal straight down in the answer.
Longer # on top. Ignore the decimal until the end. Then put the decimal point on the end.
It doesn't matter which number goes first, Multiply and randomly put the decimal point in your answer.

Which one is the correct movement of the decimal(s) for the problem:
Move each decimal one place value right to change 0.8 to 8, and 26.08 to 260.8
Keep the decimals where they are
Move the decimal one place values on the outside (0.8 to 8) but NOT on the inside. Keep 26.08 as 26.08
Move each decimal two place values left to change 0.8 to 0.08, and 26.08 to 2.608
