Theme paragraph/literary analysis for The Outsiders
Remember you are not allowed to use the copy and paste function and must "type fresh" and edit---and proofread--try to catch the spelling and punctuation errors.
Requirements are as follows:
TS--make a claim of the theme of the novel (no story facts) universal message or idea.
CD#1--(concrete detail or proof) provide one or two sentences that prove your theme with an example(s) from the beginning of the novel
CM#1--(Commentary or elaboration or explanation)comment on what your story facts/CDs reveal--or show--or why it matters...in one or two sentences
CD#2--(concrete detail or proof) provide one or two sentences that prove your theme with an example(s) from the middle of the novel
CM#2--(Commentary or elaboration or explanation) comment on what your story facts/CDs reveal--or show--or why it matters...in one or two sentences.
CD#3--(concrete detail or proof) provide one or two sentences that prove your theme with an example(s) from the end of the novel
CM#3-(Commentary or elaboration or explanation) comment on what your story facts/CDs reveal--or show--or why it matters...in one or two sentences.
CS--conclude the paragraph and add a future thought if you can (As a result...or In conclusion...) No Story FACTs Allowed--No repeating the TS for CS
*You are not allowed to repeat information--double check that you did not repeat info in your paragraph.
You are not allowed to use the copy and paste functions and must “type fresh” in Go Formative for the theme paragraph.
Avoid "I" statements--go back and delete/re-write when done and remove any "I"s.
*You should have 8-12 sentences when you are done and you could have a bit more.
This is ONE paragraph where you prove ONE theme exists with evidence from the beginning/middle/end of the novel. Just one theme!
