Questions 3-4 ask you to explain on how the scientific method is useful with examples.
Questions 5-6 ask you to reflect on your needs as a learner to set a specific science goal.

What was your role in planning today's presentation? My group would say that...(Choose the one that fits best. Be honest!)

The MYP rubric asks you to use "scientific language to communicate understanding clearly." Think about how you explained your experiment during the presentation. What do you think the audience would say about your communication? Choose one!

Reflect on our Unit 1 lab to answer questions 3-4:
How is the scientific method a useful way to learn about ourselves as students?

Start with a claim. The scientific method is useful to learn about ourselves as students because...

Now, offer at least 2 examples from class this year to prove your claim. Your examples can come from your experiment, other presentations you heard, or discussion that we had in class! Wrap it up by explaining how you'll use what you've learned this year.

I'd like to challenge you to set a science goal this year. Here are three learner traits that ISB focuses on in 7th grade. Select one that you'd like to work on in science:

1

Turn it into a goal. Name a specific way you will work on your chosen trait in science.
It could be something you'll do at home / in-class, or a plan for how you'll study / complete projects. Choose something that is possible, but that you aren't doing yet.

"I would like to become a better___ in science this year by___"

Example: "I would like to become a better communicator in science this year by reading at least one science news article each week and discussing it with my family." (You must think of your own).
