Solving Equations with Like Terms- Step by Step
1. Simplify both sides of the equation by combining like terms (DO NOT combine like terms that are on opposite sides of the equal sign)
2. Add or subtract to get the contants (numbers alone) to the opposite side of the equation from the variable.
3. Multiply or divide by the coefficient (number attached to the variable) to isolate the variable.
