These tests are called vital signs. Vital signs reflect essential body functions, including your heartbeat, breathing rate, temperature, and blood pressure. Your health care provider may watch, measure, or monitor your vital signs to check your level of physical functioning.

Normal vital signs change with age, sex, weight, exercise capability, and overall health.
Normal vital sign ranges for the average healthy adult while resting are:
Blood pressure: 90/60 mm Hg to 120/80 mm Hg
Breathing: 12 to 18 breaths per minute
Pulse: 60 to 100 beats per minute
Temperature: 97.8°F to 99.1°F (36.5°C to 37.3°C); average 98.6°F (37°C)

Why do you think it is important for medical professionals to take your vital signs?

(15 min) Since we unfortunatly will not be able to listen to heart and lung sounds in real life, a virtual version will have to do.

For this first video, you will listen to all 4 heart sounds and provide 1 sentence descriptions for what is causing each sound and then one sentence descriptions for what the sounds sounds like in the chart. I have provided timestamps for all of them below.

(15 min) For this second video, you will listen to all 5 lung sounds and provide 1 sentence descriptions for what is causing each sound and then one sentence descriptions for what the sounds sounds like in the chart. I have provided timestamps for all of them below.

For the next part of class we will focus on preventive care vs. treatment. 
We will research the differences the two and look at the benefits and cons of each.
