Susie and the Gnat

Susie always wanted a pet of her very own. Her limbs would shake with excitement at the thought of picking out her very own cat or dog. The problem was Susie's dad was allergic to most animals.

One day Susie decided to climb her neighbour's oak tree. This was one of Susie’s favourite things to do. She would swing from limb to limb letting her mind brainstorm ways around her father's allergy. Today was like every other tree climbing day except for one thing. A gnat. Now Susie was familiar with these little buzzing critters who enjoyed gnawing on the oak tree's rough bark. Suddenly an idea wrapped its way around her brain.

Ever since that day Susie has spent every moment she can with her new pet. Mrs. Gnat. They are together from the time Susie combs her hair in the morning until she tucks her numb, tired body into bed at night. She introduced Mrs Gnat to her other friends, they loved her pet. Susie knew she had the greatest pet in the world, and Mrs. Gnat knew it too.
