After reading the text, "Champions" place the following events in sequence from first to last.

  1. ” The team used to practice twice a week. When they found out they were going to the state championship, they changed to four practices a week. They learned new plays that the Tigers had never seen.
  2. Jeremy looked and saw that some of the Tigers players had their arms crossed and others were sighing and shaking their heads as they looked at the score.
  3. Jeremy lined up to shake hands with the Tigers. “Good game,” said one of the Tigers. “Next year, we’ll be ready for you!” Jeremy shook hands, looked him in the eye and said, “I can’t wait!”
  4. The crowd cheered and clapped. Jeremy gave a thumbs-up to his teammates, but his heart was pounding. He could hardly believe it. His basketball team, the Hornets, had reached the state championship! It was the first time in the team’s history they had made it this far
  5. Seeing that the game was so close, Jeremy smiled. “It looks like all the time we practiced is paying off,” he told Kurt, “If we keep playing like this, we’ll pull ahead for sure!”
