QUOTE:

"I really believe that if the political leaders of the world could see their planet from a distance of 100,000 miles their outlook could be fundamentally or in central or important ways, changed. That all-important (absolutely necessary) border would be invisible, that noisy argument silenced. The tiny globe would continue to turn, serenely (calmly) ignoring its subdivisions or smaller parts of a whole, presenting a unified façade that would cry out for unified understanding, for homogeneous (the same) treatment. The earth must become as it appears: blue and white, not capitalist or Communist; blue and white, not rich or poor; blue and white, not envious or envied (jealous). Small, shiny, serene, blue and white, FRAGILE."

Glossary of difficult words: fundamentally (adverb): in central or important ways

all-important (adjective): absolutely necessary

serenely (adverb): calmly; free from trouble

subdivisions (noun): smaller parts of a larger whole

façade (noun): outward appearance; exterior

homogenous (adjective): the same envious (adjective): jealous

FOR ALLAN, ZAIN, JEREMIAH, EDWIN, DAYVIAN:

Simplified quote:

"If our political leaders could just see Earth from space, their outlook would be changed. They wouldn't care as much about borders and arguments. They would see that our Earth spins perfectly fine without needing to divide itself into different countries or decide who owns which piece of land. The Earth is blue and white, and doesn't care about what kind of government it has. The Earth is blue and white, and doesn't care about the rich versus the poor. The Earth is small, shiny, and fragile.

Vocabulary:

Outlook - someone's point of view on life

Borders - the lines that divide different countries from each other

Fragile - easily damaged
