Mi-Star is the official place to look for Science grades this semester. Your grade in Science is based on two weighted categories: 70% Summative (tests, quizzes, projects) and 30% Formative (classwork, labs, group work, exit tickets, check ins).

1

If you are completing assignments late, you must contact Mrs. Rose via email to let her know that your work is now ready to check. You must include your name, class hour, and the assignment name(s) in your message. Late work is entered in Mi-Star after all on-time work has been logged. It is recommended that work is turned in on time in order to avoid inaccuracies in the gradebook. Work will not be accepted if it is more than 3 weeks late.

1

Turning in work - All work should be submitted through Canvas. Please do not email copies of assignments to your teacher. Make sure that work is properly attached or uploaded to assignments, and be sure to check sharing settings on any Google Docs or Slides. If your teacher cannot see your work through Canvas, it cannot be graded and will be marked as missing in Mi-Star.

1

Your teacher will have weekly plans available on Canvas - please review if you are absent. Students returning from an absence are responsible for checking what was missed and completing make-up work in a timely manner.

Protocol for hybrid learning - Due to our schedule and in person learning, please know there may be a delay in a response if you contact your teacher with questions. Remote and hybrid students will need to problem solve and have some strategies ready for when a question arises.
  1. Call or text a friend.
  2. Take a break and revisit the assignment.
  3. Skip the question and complete the rest of the assignment.
  4. Try your best and then bring your question to school the following day.
