Crawfordsville is the home of the only known working rotary jain in the U.S. What's a rotary jail? Instead of the jailers going to a prisoner's cell, they could bring the prisoner's cell to them! A special mechanism moved individual jail cells to an opening where the prisoner was put into and let out of the jail cell. The jail was built in 1882. Today the jail is a museum.
