Monday: Indianapolis is the state capital and Indiana's largest city. Nearly one million people live there. Indianapolis was designed by Alexander Ralston. He laid out the city with four major diagonal streets that all led to a city center of government buildings. There are many interesting things to see and do in Indianapolis. The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is the world's largest museum for kids.

Tuesday: 
The Squire Boone Caverns near Corydon were discovered by the famous explorer Daniel Boone and his brother Squire. Squrie settled in the area of Corydon, and when he died, residents honored his wish to be buried in a cave! Squire Boone Cave, where he is buired, has colorful cave formations and underground streams and waterfalls.

The Great Depression of the 1930s was a hard time in the United States. Factories and businesses closed and many people lost their jobs. Indiana farms failed. Coal mines and stone quarries shut down. Hoosiers faced hard times during the Depression.

Thursday:
Twyla Tharp is an award-winning dancer and dance choreographer who was born in Portland in 1941. Twyla began dancing when she was just four years old. She also took piano lessons and learned to play several other musical instruments. Twyla founded her own dance company in 1965, and became famous for her original work. She has planned dances for television shows and movies.
