Monday:

Each symbol on the Indiana state flag has an important meaning. The torch stands for liberty. The outer circle of 13 stars symbolizes the original 13 U.S. states. The five stars of the inner circle stand for the next five states to join the Union. The star above the torch represents Indiana!

Tuesday:

Minerals are the building blocks of all rocks. Some minerals are so tiny you would need a magnifying glass to see them clearly. Some minerals you can find in Indiana are iron pyrite, quartz, calcite, fedspar, and kaolinite.

Wednesday:

The first newspaper in Indiana was the Indiana Gazette. It was first printed in 1804 in Vincennes. Today, the Indianapolis Star is the state's largest newspaper.

Thursday:

Ambrose Everett Burnside was and Indiana Army officer, inventor, and politician who was famous for his bushy beard. It is said that his beard inspired the word "sideburns!" After commanding Union troops during the Civil War, Burnside went on to become the governor of Rhode Island and a U.S. Senator.
