-Students will identify Eons, Eras and Periods of the Earth.
-Students will identify the dominant species of each Era and Period.
-Students will make a geologic timeline and paste animals on it to identify when they lived.

Use the reference table and GTS scale model above to organize the organisms into a Geologic Time Scale model.

List the most recent era and how long it lasted (if it's still going on, make sure to mention that.)

List the second recent era and how long it lasted.

List the second oldest era and how long it lasted.

List the oldest era and how long it lasted.

To calculate the % of the Earth, take the time of the era and divide by 4.6 billion.

Using the chart, draw approximately how much each era would take up of the circle. Use different colors for each layer and make sure to label each era.

Create marks on the line to make a scale model of the four eras - use the percentage each era has existed from question 4 to help you decide where to put the mark. Make sure to label the eras.
