Indiana has many universities and colleges. Indiana University is the largest state school. It's main campus is in Bloomington. The Indiana University mascot is the Hossier and the school's colors are red and white. The University of Notre Dame is a private school that was founded in 1842 by Roman Catholics. The school mascot is the Fighting Irish!

TUESDAY

Indiana has many unusual celebrations. If you like the movie "The Wizard of Oz," you might want to check out the Wizard of Oz festival in Chesterton. Be ready for witches, flying monkeys, and the Tin Man! Don't go to the Mushroom festival in Mansfield unless you like morels (wild mushrooms)! The Indiana State Fair is held each August in Brevard.

Clement and John Studebaker were brothers from South Bend. In the mid- 1800s they began a business building horse-drawn carriages and wagons. By the early 1900s, their company was building automobiles. Unfortunately, the Studebaker automaking plants shut down in 1936.
