How They Grow
How does a butterfly grow? An adult butterfly lays a tiny egg on a leaf. The egg hatches and a caterpillar comes out. The caterpillar eats lots of leaves to help it grow. As it grows, it sheds its skin. The caterpillar is now ready to make a
chrysalis.
After two weeks, a creature pops out of the chrysalis. The caterpillar has become a butterfly! The butterfly flutters its wings and flies away.
How does a frog grow? An adult frog lays a tiny egg in the water. The egg hatches and a tadpole swims out. It eats small plants to help grow. The tadpole grows two legs and its tail disappears. The tadpole has become a frog! It leaps out of the water and the frog can now live on land.
