Verbs with reflexive pronouns:
If the subject and object of a verb are the same, a reflexive pronoun can be used to show that the subject acts upon itself (I wash my face, you shave your face, etc.)
yo me lavo •Like direct object pronouns, reflexive pronouns can go:
tú te lavas 1: before a conjugated verb
él, ella usted se lava 2: after and attached to an infinitive
nosotros nos lavamos The meaning is the same for both.
vosotros os laváis Example: I am going to wash my face.
ellos(as), uds. se lavan Me voy a lavar la cara.
•When you use a reflexive pronoun use el, la, los or las before the part of the body or clothing to say “mine” or “your.”
ex: Yo voy a lavarme la cara – I’m going to wash my face.
