The Homeostasis Gizmo shows a person on a treadmill. Notice the Air temperature and Body temperature thermometers. What is the air temperature?

What is the body temperature?

Click the Run button and hit the play button. Watch the thermometers for a little while. How does exercise affect body temperature?

Reset the stimulation. Set the Sweat slider to 5 L/hour (liters per hour). How does sweating affect body temperature?

Hit reset. Check that automatic sweating is selected. Drag the hat and sweatshirt to the person. Click Jog. Press Play and observe. Once in a while, you will need to drag the energy bar or water bottle to the person so they can eat or drink. Click Pause  once per hour (simulated time). Each time, record the Air temperature, Body temperature, and Sweat level.

How does the air temperature affect the sweat level?

Press the reset button. Remove the sweatshirt and hat and unclick automatic sweating. Have the person stand on the treadmill and move the sweat button to 5.0 L/h. Make sure to turn off automatic sweating. Press play.

Press the reset button. Have the person jog on the treadmill. Make sure the sweat button is at 0.

Press the reset button. Have the person jog on the treadmill and click automatic  sweating and press play. Do not give the person water or food.
