Stanley Yelnats carried Hector "Zero" Zeroni up the mountain at Green Lake, let him drink from the stream, and sang a song to him, which ended the curse.
Elya Yelnats promised to carry Madame Zeroni up a mountain to drink from a stream, and sing to her.
When he noticed everyone going crazy about the missing shoes, Hector "Zero" Zeroni walked outside, ran around the corner, took off the shoes, and put them on a parked car.
Hector "Zero" Zeroni saw shoes in the homeless shelter and stole them.
The shoes fell from a freeway overpass and hit Stanley Yelnats on the head. Stanley ran with the shoes. Soon a patrol car pulled alongside him.
