DIRECTIONS: Read the sentences below. Choose Agree or Disagree

  • Earth is a big planet compared to other planets.
  • When we see stars in the sky, they look small because they are small.

Page 3: To understand how long a beluga whale is, I need to make a picture in my head of a car. Now that I have that picture in my head, itโ€™s easier for me to understand that, a beluga must be a really big animal if it is longer than a car!
Page 4: I see a diagram of six cars lined up to help us understand how long a blue whale is. But, to really understand what that means, I need to visualize six cars lined up in a place I know. Iโ€™m thinking of the school parking lot. Wow!
Page 5: When I read this page, I make a picture in my mind of a map of the United States. I think of New York on the far eastern side and California on the far western side. Iโ€™ve heard it can take more than 40 hours to drive from New York to California, so it is a very far distance. Now I picture that trip, but the trip around the moon is twice that amount!
