Two Heads Are Better Than One
Justin had a puzzled look on his face. He was at his desk, working on a drawing. Suddenly he erased it and tried something different. Finally, he stood up, stretched, and yawned. "I've been working on this idea all weekend," he thought. "Well, I guess that's what it takes sometimes."
Justin was sketching his latest invention. He wanted to build an exciting new toy with wheels and a deck like a skateboard, but he wanted it to be higher off the ground. "I just need to figure out how to steer this thing," he said to himself.
As he sat back down at his desk, Megan, his sister, knocked on his door. "There's a rabbit in the backyard," she said. "I think it has a broken leg. Will you help me with it?" "I think all the animals needing help know where to find you, Megan, " Justin teased. "Someday you'll have your own animal hospital."
Together they gathered some small craft sticks, first-aid tape, and some strips of fabric from a sewing project. Megan gently held the rabbit as Justin made a splint for the rabbit's leg. Megan found a cozy box for the rabbit and brought it some lettuce and water. "Now," Justin said to Megan, "you can help me. I'm working on a new invention, and maybe you can give me some ideas." They headed back to Justin's room and sat down to look at his drawings together.
