Hi all!
Great job this past week. We had 55% of you get 100%! AMAZING!!! We also had 97% get a C or above on this last assignment! ❤️ 💯 🙌 🎉 🎉 🎉 👍
If you would like to revise last week's assignment, make sure you email me (see instructions at the end of this assignment).
We will keep reviewing these questions (easy points each week) just to make sure we know how class works.
1.) What work should I focus on? Each week the points get higher as assignments get harder. This means you should always work on the current work first (or any work needed to complete the current work) before completing old assignments.
2.) Old Work/Make-up Work: You can only make up or redo major or large assignments from wihtin the quarter. So you can only make up major assignments (not little assignments) each quarter. Once quarter 2 begins you cannot make up major assignments from quarter 1.
3.) Late Work: If you are completing late work (if the assignment is allowed to be late) YOU MUST EMAIL ME!!!! I do really wish I were a psychic. I would probably make more money if I could predict when you decided to turn something in late. However, I cannot guess when you submit something late. I spend around 2-3 minutes per student grading ( an average of 5 hours of grading for each assignment). Once I grade something, I don't even think about looking back on it unless a student lets me know they completed it late.
4.) Office Hours: When is Ms. Jernberg's Office hours? TUESDAYS right after school from 3:50-4:50 ! I would love to see you there!! :) This is the easiest and FASTEST way to raise your grade!

Listening to music is one of the greatest things on earth. However, make sure you can handle listening to music and doing work. I notice some students changing songs more than they are working.
During the Do Now, I want your full concentration (zero song lyrics). During group activities, I want students communicating with others in their group. The ability to work with anyone and solve problems is critical to any job, relationship, life problem IN LIFE! These are the reasons why heaphones are only allowed during individual work time.
The focus skills for this class are your writing skills and your reading skills. You will have lots of opportunities to listen to music as you write and do individual work; I promise!
Instructions: Read the text above and then select the options where you see information from the text above. HINT: There are three options that you need to select!

The Hero's Journey is an ancient plot that is used to make stories (movies, books) throughout all of time. The Hero's Journey is how we view life and how we view change in life.
Choose your favorite movie or book and plot out the Hero's Journey for that story.
If you really cannot think of a movie or book to try and analyze, you can watch this video of a woman explaning the Hero's Journey in Moana. But I'd really like to see you analyze and hear about your real favorite movies or books.
