And in the United States, the former Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg proposed to expand voluntary public service programs, while also creating new ones focused on combating climate change, treating mental health and addiction, and providing care for older people.

Do you think all young adults should have the opportunity to participate in a public service program upon graduating high school or college, either in the military or in a civic organization? Native American names and symbols have long been used by all types of American sports teams at the professional, college and high school levels, such as the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. But facing pressure and protest, many teams are now changing their nicknames and mascots.

This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers for Super Bowl LIV. It is likely that at some point during the game, Chiefs fans will begin their favored cheer: the tomahawk chop.

How will you feel seeing this gesture and hearing its accompanying chant? Do you think it is a disrespectful and perpetuates negative stereotypes? Or is an acceptable way to celebrate and rally one’s beloved team?
