A 15-year-old boy is facing a felony charge after he allegedly made a “violent threat” online about Lincoln Park High School.

The boy was charged Thursday with a single felony count of making a threat to a school building or person. Because he is charged as a juvenile, his name has not been released.
Chicago Public Schools spokespersons did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday morning.

According to Chicago police, the teen was arrested around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday at Lincoln Park High School. He allegedly “created a violent threat against a high school” and “posted that threat to social media.”

According to ABC-7, the teen published an Instagram post in which he threatened to “shoot up LPHS.”
“I’ll be bringing a highpoint to school to shoot the kids that annoy me and I'm explaining how I’m going to do it,” he allegedly said in a now-deleted post.

The boy is scheduled to appear at a juvenile court hearing Thursday.
