1978 Supreme Court Case regarding the 1st Amendment rights fo News reporters and the 4th Amendment search and siezure rights.
Key Question: may police obtain a warrant to search the premises of a newspaper for evidence where niether the newspaper nor its staff is implicated in the crime in questions?
The ruling in this case lead to the the Privacy Protection Act of 1980 which prohibited government searches of the press unless there is probale cause to believe that the person or office being serched is involved in the crime being investigated.
