Principle 4: Create depth
  1. Upload a photo that you feel properly demonstrates this principle to the canvas.
  2. Zoom and pan your image to fill the canvas.
  3. Annotate the image to identify evidence of the principle. Use tools from the Formative sidebar and contrasting colors to complete the following:
  • Use one color to draw a circle around the subject that is obviously in the "focused" depth of field.
  • Use another color to draw a rectangle around one or more objects that are obviously NOT in the subject's depth of field. These may be in the background or foreground, but are either not in focus or are dramatically closer or farther away than the subject.
