Lesson Summary:
In this lesson, students begin to read the second module text, I Am Malala. While examining the book and reading the prologue, students track their observations and questions about the text. While the text’s chapters are structured chronologically, the prologue gives details of the day of Malala’s shooting and reveals that she has left Pakistan to live in England. Students will build understandings around these events before reading chapter 1 on their own.
