Newton’s third law of motion states that for every action (force), there is an equal and opposite

reaction. Action-reaction paired forces can affect objects in direct contact (contact forces) or

objects not touching each other (action-at-a-distance forces).

Draw a diagram for the following scenarios in questions 1–3. Label the action and reaction forces

and the directions in which the two forces are traveling.
