Coffee Break--The staff at Hannah Coffee are keeping track of how much each customer spends (in dollars). One hundred of these amounts are shown in the table below.

a. Use two random numbers here at this link. (Set a min. of 0 and max. of 9. Roll 2 numbers)
The first number will be the column and the second number will be the row. Press Calculate to get a new pair of numbers.

Take a sample of 10 random customers. List out the dollars each customer spends, then calculate a sample mean. Type your sample mean in the answer box so we can compare with the rest of the class.

HW Check--Suppose you wanted to estimate the mean time 7th graders spend on homework each night. You decide to do this by taking a random sample of 7th grade students. You will calculate the mean time spent doing homework for your sample. You will then use your sample mean as an estimate of the population mean.
