When naming a compound, capitlization will not effect your answer being correct or not.
Put a space between the names of element/polyatomic ions.
NO COMMAS or DASHES. Use a capital I or V or X in roman numerals.
Do not forget your parenthese around the roman numeral.
SPELLING COUNTS!! Use your periodic table and polyatomic ion sheet WISELY!
For example:
questions gives this:
Mn3(PO4)2
your answer should look like:
Manganese (II) phospate
Remember, when writing a symbol CAPITALIZE the first letter and the second letter (if the symbol has a second letter) will be
lower case
.
Do not enter ones if your compound has a subscript of one.
You do not have to use the subscript or superscript in formating, please type the compound as shown below:
