Abigail Adams' purpose was to declare her allegiance to King George III of England, even though her husband was in active rebellion against the British crown to prove herself as a Loyalist.

Abigail Adams' purpose was to declare her independence from husband in the first colonial divorce of the seventeenth centruy due to his unjust rule over her.

Abigail Adams' purpose was to criticize her husband for supporting the American Revolutionary cause and leaving her at home to take care of their children and household.

Abigail Adams' purpose was to warn her husband that he and the other Founding Fathers needed to recognize women in creating a new government otherwise they, too, woud rebel like the American colonists did.
