Question 1
1.

come on y'all, this was on your test today!! :-)

Question 2
2.

(Unit 1--Notes from Absolute Value--sept)

Question 3
3.

(Unit 2B-Quadratics (Complex))

Question 4
4.

(take out the i's, multiply outside and inside then simplify)
(Unit 2B-Quadratics (Complex))

Question 5
5.

Choose all that apply:

(Hint: if the discriminate is negative the solution is non-real. if you solve by square root and get an imaginary answer, the solution is non-real)

(Unit 2B-Quadratics (Complex))

Question 6
6.

(type these equations DIRECTLY into the graphing tool in desmos...see if they intersect. For systems, solutions are always where the graphs intersect (NOT where it hits the x axis!))

(it may be a little hard to do this one by substitution or by graphing by hand...so I'm caving, use Desmos)

Question 7
7.

(from unit 2B...for < or >, try a number in that set to see if it works. You're looking for a discriminate that is negative here)

(Unit 2B-Quadratics (Complex))...you'll need to use a different number for c and try it 4 ways based on the answer choices..for example:

for A. since c < -3, you'll want to choose a number like -4
for B. use -3
for C. use 3
for D. since c > -3, you'll want to choose a number like -2)

Your answer will be the one which provides you a negative number once you evaluate the discriminant.

Question 8
8.

(use quadratic formula...unit 2B)

Question 9
9.

(how many times do the graphs intersect?)

Question 10
10.

(this is from the current unit...find an LCD and evaluate)
