Watch the video about the Salem Witch Trials and answer the questions using the historical context that we have discussed so far.

The Salem Witch Trials occurred in Massachusetts in the late-1600s. All of the ideas from the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment were not yet supported by the Puritans living in Salem at this time.

Think about the ways that people thought about science and religion BEFORE the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment (think about everything we have learned so far in Module A).

How do you think the Puritans' views about SCIENCE and RELIGION contributed to the paranoia and hysteria in the Salem Witch Trials?
