You are going to design a poster starring a Greek God or Goddess of your choosing. Instructions for this assignments are numbered below, followed by more specific instructions and suggested research sources beneath that.

1) Select a Greek God or Goddess. You can pick one from the list provided in class, or you may select one of the many Gods or Goddesses not included in that list. NOTE: If a God or Goddess is not included in the list, you are likely going to have a much more difficult time finding information about them as they are not as popular.

2) Complete the research guide. Make sure that you're including all of the information that you are being asked to include on your poster. I would encourage you to include as much information as possible in your answers, because you really don't want to have to go back to researching because you don't have enough for your poster. After completing your research guide, submit it and let Mr. Sweeney know that you submitted it. As soon as possible, Mr. Sweeney will mark correct answers green and incorrect/incomplete answers red. Once all of your answers are green, move on to step 3.

3) Begin and complete a rough draft of your poster. Put your First/Last Name on the back. You will also need the author's signature on the front (you're the author.) This will be completed on normal sized paper. You may use PENCIL ONLY! Keep in mind that your final draft will be completed on a much larger 12 x 18 poster, so you need to plan out the spacing of your final draft on your rough draft. NOTE: In order for you to begin your final draft, Mr. Sweeney needs to review your rough draft with you. After making any revisions that Mr. Sweeney gives you to make, you will get a stamp on your rough draft.

3a) Use all of the space on your poster. White, or blank, space does not look good!
3b) Be intentional about the color scheme you choose. The best posters will have a theme, not just random colors.
3c) Don't be afraid to look at images of your God/Goddess for inspiration. They didn't ACTUALLY exist. That means that you're free to be as creative as you'd like in how you design them.

4) Begin and complete a final draft of your poster. Put your First/Last Name on the back. You will also need the author's signature on the front (you're the author.) This will be completed on 12x18 sized paper. IMPORTANT: I will give you ONE original and ONE replacement poster paper, for a maximum of two 12x18 poster papers. If you choose not to trace things in pencil, you are taking the risk of making a mistake that you cannot correct. You may use pencils, colored pencils or crayons to complete this final draft.

Okay, now it's time for you to complete this research guide. Below, you'll find a list of sources to get you started. You are not limited to using only these sources. Just make sure that any other sources you use are reliable.

You do not need to answer #1-3 in a complete sentence, but #4-9 DO need to be answered in a complete sentence.
