It is 1928, Prohibition is in effect. Al is driving a truck from Kentucky to Chicago. The back of his truck is covered so the contents are undetectable. Al passed a police car traveling below the speed limit of 50 MPH. The officer noticed that the truck looked "heavy" and identified the truck as one that looked familiar for transporting liquor. The officer searched the truck and found 15 cases of liquor in the truck. The officer claims there was a case of liquor in the front seat which is why he searched the back of the truck. Al claims no liquor was visible during the stop.

A K-9 unit pulled over a Ferrari driven by Ice Cold (a known rap artist) after his vehicle veered onto the shoulder of the highway. After checking the driver's license and registration, the officer issued Ice Cold a written warning. The officer then asked if he could walk his dog around the car, and Ice Cold refused. The officer asked Ice Cold to exit the vehicle and and the officer walked the dog around the car. The dog alerted the officer to the presence of drugs and a large bag of meth was found in the trunk.

Prior to trial, Ice Cold filed a motion to suppress the evidence found in the search claiming his rights were violated.
